Due to the recent events of Hurricane Florence, our server for K12PaymentCenter is currently down. Meals Plus/K12 Payment Center is located in Wilmington, NC and has been hit by the hurricane. They are hoping to be back up and running early next week. We want to assure you that payments are still going through and we are being notified of payments being made, however they aren't showing up on the cashier screen. We want to make you aware of this issue, and to ask for your patience and understanding.

Congratulations to the boys golf team who placed third at SBC’s. Congratulations to Carson Kennedy and Dylan Morris for earning first team SBC honors. Great job guys!
Any sixth grader that would like to participate in biddy cheerleading, forms are due tomorrow. If you have not received a form you can pick one up from Mrs. Drossman in room 123.
Attention Freshman: October 12th Mr. Miller and Mrs. Lott will be taking you to EHOVE for a Manufacturing Career Exploration opportunity. We will leave the high school at 8:45am and return shortly after 11:00am. The event will provide you with information regarding manufacturing pathways with local employers who will be providing interactive learning stations for you to participate in with hands on experience. It is our hope that this experience will generate awareness of and possible career interest in the manufacturing industry’s opportunities that continue to be in demand.

Presale tickets for Friday night’s football game are available in Student Services. Tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased in Student Services.

To purchase a homecoming ticket you must have your school fees paid. Tickets are on sale before and after school in the office or with Mrs. Szymanski and during lunch. The cost is $10 per person or $15 per couple.
The Elks National Foundation is offering the Most Valuable Student Scholarship.To apply you can go online to enf.elks.org/mvs and to get complete details.
Terra State Community College will be holding a college night on Monday, October 1st from 6 p.m - 7:30 p.m. More than 70 college and university representatives will be in attendance to answer your questions.
Wednesday, September 26th there will be a senior meeting in the cafeteria 11th period. You will receive information on applying for college, financial aid, scholarship procedures & lots of other important information. Sign up to attend in the Student Services Office.
Beginning next week we will have college representatives visiting to talk with you about their schools. Below is a list of dates and times when they will be here. If you would like to attend their presentation, stop by student services and see Mrs. Cullen to sign up. Each visit will last one period and you will be excused from class for that period. Sign up ONLY if you are interested in that college.

Applications for free and reduced price meals are available for download by clicking here. Please complete one application per family and return with your child to school or you may mail it to the Board of Education Office, 305 S. Washington Street, Castalia, Ohio 44824; attention Sarah Ransom, Food Service Director. Applications must be submitted every year to continue on the program. If the application is approved, your child(ren) will begin to receive or continue to receive free or reduced price meals from the date of approval. A letter will be sent home notifying you of your child's meal status. Applications can be submitted at any time during the school year if your family financial circumstances change. All information submitted to the school is kept confidential. There is no discrimination or identification of free or reduced price paying students. We urge all families to consider filling out an application.
