Ohio state law requires that every child entering Kindergarten be screened. It is the policy of the Margaretta Local School District Board of Education that each child who will be 5 years of age on or before September 30, 2018, shall be eligible to enroll in kindergarten.
2018-2019 kindergarten screening for residents of the Margaretta Local School District will be held April 26-27, 2018. Please call the Margaretta Board office at 419-684-5322 to schedule a time for registration and your child to be screened. The following appointment times are available:
Thursday, April 26
4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Friday, April 27
8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
12:45 p.m. – 2:15 p.m.
Please bring with you to Kindergarten Screening & Registration:
• your child
• 2 forms of proof of residency with name/address of legal guardian
• legal guardian's driver's license or photo ID
• child's official birth certificate
• child's immunization/shot records
• child's social security card
• completed Kindergarten Registration packet
• custody paperwork designating a residential parent (if applicable)
The Kindergarten Registration Packet can be found at www.margarettaschooldistrict.com. Please bring all needed materials to your appointment. Dentist & Physician forms can be turned in the first week of school.
An immunization clinic will also be available during screening times. Parents must first call the Erie County Health Department at 419-626-5623 ext. 174 to schedule an appointment for your child.
Non-residents wishing to enroll at Margaretta for the 2018-2019 school year must first complete an open enrollment application. Registration and screening will take place after notification of open enrollment acceptance.

Open Enrollment applications for the 2018-2019 school year are now available. The Margaretta Local School District will accept open enrollment applications from April 1 to April 30, 2018.
The residence of the custodial parent/guardian must be located outside of the boundaries of the Margaretta Local School District. Proof of residency is required to be submitted along with the application.
2018-2019 Open Enrollment Applications may be downloaded from www.margarettaschooldistrict.com or obtained from the Margaretta Board of Education office at 305 South Washington St., Castalia. Open Enrollment Procedures and Policies can also be found on our website. Applications can be dropped off at the Board of Education office Monday – Friday between 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. starting April 2.

There will be an organized March called March for our Lives taking place Saturday, March 24th to honor the students lost in the Florida shooting and to raise awareness for actions against gun violence. Students are encouraged to join. Information for registration will be on Facebook and Twitter at MFOL Sandusky.
8th graders who still have candy out for DC Trip-All Candy money is due in this Friday 23rd. It was due last Friday!!
The Margaretta FFA will have Livestock Judging practices on Tuesday at Routh Packing and Thursday at Knapp’s Farm on Maple Ave. There will be two practice options on both Tuesday and Thursday: The first one will be after school. The second option will be 5:00 p.m. Students can either meet at the school first or go directly to the locations of the practices.
Our last blood drive of the year is Friday April 6. Sign up sheets are located in the main office and in the following teacher's classrooms: Mrs. Bonnigson, Miss Comparette, Mr. Gluth, Mr. Gravenhorst, Mrs. Meyers, & Mrs. Wurzel. Each unit collected helps save 3 lives. Please sign up to donate! Any questions, please see Mrs. Bonnigson.
National Honor Society will recognize students who have excelled in community service with an award at the annual Achievement Banquet.
If you have helped others through community service activities in the last 12 months, please complete a Community Service Registration form.
Forms are available in the main office and need to be validated and returned to Mrs. Bonnigson no later than April 30.
The Erie County Health Department is hosting a Babysitting Training for anyone ages 11-15 on March 30 & 31st from 9-3. Cost is $50 and you will also get certified for First Aid, CPR, and AED. Call the Erie County Health Department to sign up.

If you still have candy money out- I would like all money in by next Friday 16th. Only candy we have left is crunch bars!!
If you sold subs in Feb. I just found out we made more than 2.50 per sub. I will be sending home an updated paper with your balances on Monday March 19th with your child. Final payments are due on March 20 and this will give you a final $$ of what you owe.
If you didn't sell subs, than your paper would be accurate in less you sold more candy bars. Anyone who has a question on their amount owed, just email me.
